BOOK YOUR WAANANGA NOW Health Improvement Practitioners Our Aronui Health Improvement Practitioners provide focused, solution-based support to help whaanau manage life's challenges and strengthen their hinengaro and wairua. Drawing on both clinical expertise and maatauranga Maaori, they offer timely guidance around stress, anxiety, mamae, and other everyday pressures. HIPs work closely with whaanau in the moment – helping to restore balance and build resilience. BOOK YOUR WAANANGA NOW Kai & Koorero Kai & Koorero is our weekly Friday kaupapa for kuia and kaumaatua (over 60's group) – a space to move, experience new things, share time and space, and connect. Through gentle movement activity, (chair based) shared kai, and meaningful koorero, our kaumaatua come together to nurture their hinengaro, strengthen whanaungatanga, and build new friendships. It’s about staying active, staying connected, and celebrating the wisdom and presence of our pakeke in a space that feels like home. BOOK YOUR WAANANGA NOW Ngaakau Oho Mornings to Active the Holistic Self (Online Sessions) This movement and meditation workshop is a collaboration of traditional Maaori healing modalities weaved together to create a space that awakens an awareness to your holistic being. Sessions will consist of Mahi Raakau (staff) , Mahi Tinana (body movement) , Mahi Haa (breath) and a short clearing/re-generising meditation facilitated by romiromi practitioner Piripi Morunga. Ngaakau Oho is open to all who would like to attend and will run for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour live on Zoom at 6am Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. If you can't make the live Zoom, you can watch the recordings on YouTube . You will need a quiet space, a mat, cushion or seat, water and two Rakau: One Rakau with length from the ground to your chin and a short Rakau with length from the tip of your finger to your shoulder. This 10-week free programme interweaves maatauranga (traditional Maaori knowledge) and smoking cessation practices. Participants engage in weaving stories while making kaakahu (cloaks) and korowai, exploring their own hauora through the different stages of the maramataka (Maaori lunar calendar). Te Ara Tika offers a culturally enriching and supportive environment - through combining traditional Maaori crafts and knowledge with modern cessation practices, this programme provides a holistic and effective pathway to better hauora. Health Services Medical Centres Turuki Health Care has medical centres in Maangere  and  Panmure. We provide same day and booked appointments depending on your medical needs. You can access a range of comprehensive community health, GP and nurse specialty clinics structured and delivered to meet the needs of our community. We have GPs fluent in Te Reo Maaori at both clinics and we have team members who speak Tongan, Burmese, Niuean, Samoan, French and Cantonese. Our fees are kept as affordable as possible.
