Hapuu Waananga offers culturally informed antenatal education through one-day waananga held every Friday at Manu Tukutuku Community Centre and every Saturday at Turuki Health Care in Manukau throughout 2025. This program focuses on natural, whaanau-centered birthing, empowering women and their families with knowledge and support for labour, birth, and early parenting. Our experienced Maaori midwives facilitate these sessions, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Who Is Eligible?
To participate, you must be pregnant (26 weeks or more), live in Counties Manukau, and be a New Zealand resident or citizen. The program is open to all whaanau, emphasizing a Te Ao Maaori perspective.

Every Tuesday, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Turuki Health Care in Maangere, you’ll learn to prepare delicious, nutritious, and budget-friendly low-carb recipes.

This class is open to anyone interested in exploring low-carb cooking, whether you're experienced or just starting out. Participants of all backgrounds are welcome to learn how to create satisfying meals that support health and weight management.

Ngaakau Oho mornings to active the holistic self is a free online movement and meditation workshop. This workshop is in collaboration of traditional Māori healing modalities weaved together to create a space that awakens an awareness to your holistic being. Sessions will consist of Mahi Rākau (staff) , Mahi Tinana (body movement) , Mahi Hā (breath) and a short clearing/re-generising meditation.
You will need a quiet space, a mat, cushion or seat, water and two Rakau: One Rakau with length from the ground to your chin and a short Rakau with length from the tip of your finger to your shoulder.
Participating will foster wellbeing that is attentive to individual and collective experiences of Wairua, Hinengaro, Tinana and Whānau. This workshop will help to facilitate more positive experiences that range from healthier ways to approach daily tasks, to shifting trauma that can block energy in the body thus affecting Hinengaro, Tinana and Wairua. Sessions are open to all who would like to attend and will run for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. If you can't make the 6am live Zoom, you can watch the recordings on the Turuki Health Care YouTube.The Positive Parenting Programme (Triple P) is a free service offered by Turuki Health Care for parents and whaanau members living in the Counties Manukau region. Targeted at whaanau with children aged 0 to 12 years, Triple P provides strategies for managing children's behaviour in a constructive and supportive way, promoting positive communication and healthy development.
Who Is Eligible?
This programme is available to all parents and caregivers of children aged 0 to 12 years residing in the Counties Manukau area. It’s designed for any whaanau member looking to enhance their parenting skills and support their children’s growth.
