AWHI Healthy Homes Initiative is a free service aimed at supporting whaanau living in the Counties Manukau area. We work collaboratively with whaanau to ensure their homes support their health and wellbeing. The initiative provides education and planning around issues such as overcrowding, ventilation, and mould. Additionally, we offer interventions through our suppliers, tailored to the specific housing type.
Who Is Eligible?
This service is available exclusively within the Counties Manukau area and includes education, resource provision, and customised solutions based on individual housing needs. It also supports families in need of home improvements to enhance their health and wellbeing.

The Turuki Community Response Service supports whaanau in need by distributing and delivering kai parcels and care parcels, while also offering social services to those facing difficulties in meeting essential living requirements. Established in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, this service addresses the growing need for assistance in accessing food and essential services, particularly in the Turuki geographical region (South and Central Auckland).
Who Is Eligible?
This service is available to whaanau experiencing challenges in accessing food and other essential resources.

The Permanent Caregiver Support Service (PCSS) provides assistance to caregivers who offer permanent homes to children and young people unable to live with their parents. Coordinated by Turuki Health Care, the service offers financial and other support in line with the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989, with qualified social workers available from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
Who Is Eligible?
Eligible individuals include permanent caregivers who are either special guardians under S113(A) of the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989, have orders under the Care of Children Act 2004, or provide permanent arrangements for tamariki previously in the custody of Oranga Tamariki. Caregivers can request assistance until the child in their care turns eighteen.

The Sustaining Tenancies Programme provides support to individuals and whaanau in both private and public housing, with a primary focus on those in private housing who are struggling with complex and/or multiple needs. Our aim is to ensure security of tenure, reduce homelessness, and improve overall wellbeing. Through tailored interventions and ongoing support, we strive to build stronger, healthier communities.
Who Is Eligible?
This service is ideal for individuals and whaanau in private housing experiencing complex or multiple needs, low-income households at risk of losing their tenancy, those relying on sustaining their housing solutions, and anyone seeking to enhance their housing stability and overall wellbeing.
